Why Rev & Run?
The first goal was raising funds for the Parkdale Community Food Bank, and connecting the Toronto Indy to a sense of local purpose and community.
The second goal was to bring the running & auto racing worlds together, to connect two populations of Ontarians who share the Exhibition Street Circuit space without realizing it.
Exhibition Place is a familiar training venue & running route for many Toronto runners; when the Indy comes to Toronto, that access is often blocked off. Rev & Run gives Toronto runners a new way of experiencing a familiar place with a unique perspective; race courses are designed to make for good racing, and that translates to all formats of movement!
The Toronto Indy has been ongoing since 1986 and represents family memories and tradition for many spectators. Rev & Run provides racing fans a unique way to experience a track that they’ve enjoyed for years but typically don’t get to set foot on.
It’s a race track, which means there are some fast runners, but all ability levels are welcome to participate!
